The National Office for Research Ethics Committees is committed to driving a robust and trusted national system for research ethics review. We have defined the following vision, mission and strategic priorities to guide our actions on this journey:
Vision
Ireland’s system of research ethics review for health research promotes the highest ethical standards in health research to ensure the safety, dignity, autonomy, and well-being of the people who participate in research – patients, carers, and other members of the public from all walks of life in society.
Mission
The National Office drives a robust, transparent, and cohesive national research ethics review system that strengthens the national health research infrastructure in the best interests of patients and the public.
